Trials Training : Vernon Mount 12 June 2010

I think everyone who came to the training day will agree that the venue was ideal, sections were close
enough to each other that bikes could be shared and the terrain was ideal for sections to suit complete
novices and Experts alike. The fun factor was the highlight of the event due to the fact that the sections
were, in the words of one participant, "challenging but not scary".
There was an initail practice period where participants went around the course with an observer to look
and discuss the sections, after a short break the Training Session began with 4 laps of 6 sections. Few
riders came in with very low scores but they all had smiles.

Thanks to
Pat Kiely for running the trial, Kieran Newman for arranging the Venue and, last but not least
thanks to all the Observers for their time and patience. If you've any comments or suggestions please use

Closed to Club Trial: 21 Mar 2010

On Sunday the 21st of March, we had a Closed to Club trial a few miles outside Cahir, this event was described by many as the most enjoyable Trial in a long time. The "sections" were challenging but manageable for the three grades. The Novice grade in particular were chosen to suit even the newest of the novices. was the most fun you could have on a bike, competitors were divided into small groups of four or five
and went around the four laps each having eight sections. As the day went on the riders were competing
with each other and with the scores on the previous laps and apart from the odd mishap or dab in the last
few feet of the section nearly every one was grinning. Thanks to John O'Mahony for his invaluable trackside
repair to an unloved Sherco with a disemboweled carb.
We are awaiting photos taken on the day and these will be posted in the "Photo Gallery" as soon as we get
them. It was mentioned at the Prize giving ceremony that assistance from members would be very welcome
at the EASTER TRIAL, so please don't be shy, give Dave Coughlan a call if you wouldn't mind giving some-
thing back to th Club. His number is     Mobile: 086 1281634
The "Club" has recently invested in new equipment for use at events, these include a new LapTop and printer,
a fully enclosed trailer for use at sign-in and getting results sorted immediately after a trial.

Observer Training/Practice day: 7th Febuary 2010.

First of all, thanks to Jim, Adrian, Pat, Ian, and Brian for all their help and advice during the day, an
absolutely great day had by all. The day started with Jim explaining how the group of 40 would be
split up into smaller groups and that each group would go in rotation to train in Obserer Training,
Technical skills, practice drills or bike setup. It was the most useful day on a bike I've ever had. The
practice areas were chosen to best suit the Grade of rider and every one there found them to be do
-able and fun. All in all a huge success for the club and all in attendance. In the Calander of Events
you'll see the next event is another "Training Day" on the 28th of Febuary, these are becoming very
popular and are great fun, which is what it's meant to be all about.

AGM: 25th Jan 2010

The Committee:
There were quite a few changes made at the recent AGM Tommy Kiniery was elected Club President,
Dave Coughlan was elected Club Secretary, Terry Shone took over the office of Treasurer and Adrian
Walsh is Assistant Secretary.
Congratulations to all the above and sincerest thanks to the outgoing committee for all their hard work
over the years.

Events:
It was agreed at the AGM to continue to run the very popular Practice/Training days to help raise the
skill levels of the newer members. The next event will be a training day held at the Vee on the 7th of
Febuary (time and exact location to follow). The aim of this session is to teach and demonstrate "Trials
Observing", learning ths has a lot of advantages both as an Observer and competitor.

Website:
I was also suggested that a "Calender of events" and a feedback form be set up on the website, you can
access these by clicking the tabs at the top of each page.
